Touch Rugby

Touch rugby, or TOUCH as it is known, is a minimal contact sport that is played throughout the world by men, women and children of all ages and skill levels.  The game emphasizes running, agility and ball handling skills such as passing and catching.  Touch rugby is similar to rugby (union and league) but without, importantly, the tackling, scrumming, rucking, mauling, lineouts and kicking.  Touch rugby is easy to learn and a great way to get in shape

In Shekou we play twice a week, on Wednesday nights and on Sunday afternoon (Not during summer).  Touch rugby in Shekou is played in a relaxed manner where winning is a very low priority, the main goals are fun and fitness (although the fitness element, for some people, is usually cancelled out with the consumption of beer afterwards).

There are two main venues where we play touch rugby, On Wednesday nights games are played at the China Merchants field, on Sunday afternoons we play at the Jing Shan housing complex on what is commonly known as the 'Swamp'.  There is also a third venue in old Shekou where we play if the China Merchants pitch is unavailable.

If you are interested in playing then please send us an email or visit the Contacts page and we will put you on the mailing list.
